A word about .mp3

.mp3 is a great format.  It's so small and so universal.  .mp3 is the greatest, right?  Well, not exactly.  There are a few problems that should be noted, especially since all the music here is .mp3 format.

Here's the problem.  .mp3 is compressed and it can't easily be un compressed.  This means that if you try to convert your .mp3 to make a CD that you can play in you stereo or in your car, you're going to have a problem - not a big problem, but you loose sound quality, and you can't get it back.

This becomes a much bigger problem when it's done more than once.  Soon the music becomes unlistenable.  And that's bad.  So if you're trading, especially anything you may grab from Jazz and Blues Fridays, please do not try to change the format (to .flac, .shn, .wav).  That's only going to ruin it for people down the road.

And if you don't like 'lossy' (unconvertable) formats, get online with Bittorrent and go lossless!
